70 years of tradition and innovation
In 1947 in Rufina, a town in the province of Florence, Foresto Cammilli founded his car rental company. With his FIAT 1100 he offered his own contribution to local public transport. The concept of "tourism" did not yet exist, and the small FIAT was principally for services of a practical nature and small emergencies, or for weddings. A few years later the company's first bus arrived (a FIAT 635) signalling the beginning of the trips. The destinations were: the seaside, which many people would have never seen before, the nearby city of Florence and places of religious worship.
The business was spurred on by the arrival of his son. It was the 70s and Italians had started to travel further afield. Alberto understood the potential of international tourism, and his buses, which now comprised of 3 modern FIAT Padanas, travelled increasingly often to the European capitals and not only transported Italians, but also the first American and Northern European tourists.
To make the most of the newfound tourist market in Florence, the company's headquarters, which is now called CAMMILLI-BUS, moved to Florence, where it established itself as one of the leading companies in the sector.
The 90s saw the rise of the 3rd generation of the CAMMILLI family. Alessandro and Roberto with their father Alberto (Foresto left a few years ago), now make up the SEFIR Limited Company bringing the modernity and innovation that we are familiar with today. The company enjoyed so much success that in 2003 it was necessary to move to a larger headquarters.
Today, SEFIR srl, run by the Cammilli family, is a company that always looks ahead but never forgets everything it has learned in the past 70 years
